Is the repetitive sport you’re playing or the job you’re performing causing you to experience sore muscles? There is a good chance you may benefit from massage therapy in Downtown (Queen St West), Leslieville (Queen St East) or Kingsway (Etobicoke)!
Therapeutic massage is a commonly used treatment that helps in loosening up any tight areas in your joints and tissues, and making recovery quicker and easier – so you can get back on track to accomplishing your end goal, whether it be to improve your sports performance, or increase your productivity at work.
What types of therapeutic massage are there?
There are many different types of massages (including, but not limited to):
- Deep Tissue Massage: This type of massage loosens up your muscles and their connective tissues.
- Swedish Massage: This type of massage relaxes any stiff or tense muscles you may have, allowing for increased blood flow and fluid drainage from swollen areas.
- Myofascial Release: This type of massage creates room for tissues that may be trapped by distortions or fascial adhesions, freeing them from constriction.
- Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST): a pain free assisted stretch system used to assess and improve restrictions in the body, from a global perspective. Focusing on fascial lines that wrap around each muscle, ligament, nerve, and organ, which
- Craniosacral Therapy: A gentle, hands-on technique that works with your nervous system by releasing deep, stored tension in the fascia and central nervous system, this therapy helps reset your baseline.
- Sports Massage: a form of massage using deep tissue techniques, along with stretching, strengthening and mobilization techniques, with the aim to either prevent, or assist in recovery of a sports related injury.
- Manual Lymph Drainage: a slow and gentle manual technique that is used to drain excess fluid from the body and improve the overall functioning of the lymphatic and immune systems. The gentle pressure is combined with rhythmic circular motions to reduce swelling and encourage the body’s natural healing process.
